Requirements

To ensure our ICA systems work in a safe, stable and reliable way you will need the following skills. A detailed knowledge of the design and implementation of ICA solutions within a complex and varied engineering environment. This will include Process instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) hardware and software, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and site ICA data networks.

You will have experience of the ICA project delivery process and producing and maintaining realistic project plans and ensuring all risks are identified and managed, including a proven track record of sustainable performance against challenging business targets. You will ensure formal project delivery methods and appropriate quality and financial controls and reporting methods are in place from design through to site delivery. You will also have experience in supporting the development and promotion of long term strategic plans identifying ICA risks including the ability to develop and apply innovative ICA solutions and to challenge convention using mature and reasoned arguments.

In the role you will be required to have a detailed knowledge of Health & Safety policy and safe working practice including Construction Design Management (CDM), control of works, hazardous area environments, applying structured risk management methodologies and functional, process and machinery safety.

You will be IT literate and have experience in an industrial asset management environment. You may be required to visit sites across the Yorkshire Region therefore a full valid and clean EU driving licence is essential.

It is also essential that you have successfully completed a recognised qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control & Automation or an ICA related discipline to the minimum of HNC / NVQ level 4 and have achieved or working towards I.Eng professional status.

Job responsibilities

In your role you will be responsible for leading and delivering a defined programme of ICA projects and services to improve ICA safety, stability and reliability. This will include completing the design, scope definition, site implementation, documentation and completion phases to meet challenging customer requirements and timescales. You will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers and sub-contract specialists to implement a multi-million pound planned programme of ICA engineering projects. You will be responsible for controlling all aspects of the project falling within the scope are delivered to the highest standards and managed in line with the principles of the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations, as well as the financial projection and control of costs throughout.

You will be expected to plan, manage and prioritise workload effectively and to build and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and contract partners. This will include adhering to Health and Safety policy, ensuring compliance with the relevant standards, statutory regulations and ensuring quality controls are in place.

You will support any business change required and be able to coach and drive the right culture and behaviours. You will contribute to the identification and mitigation of short and long term ICA risks and development and promotion of the business case for approval.
