Business analysis experience, preferably gained in utilities, a regulatory environment or a field-based organisation. Excellent analytical skills – you’ll know how to extract, interpret and present information and data in a clear and logical way, to drive and get backing for, your business improvement recommendations. Experience of mapping processes, value stream mapping, business case development and the management of a detailed work plan. A proactive and creative approach to solving problems, challenging established thinking and creating sustainable value for a business and its customers.
We’ll need you to work with the team to develop an understanding of our current business position and to engage with stakeholders to get buy-in for optimal future processes and ways of working that factor in control, standardisation and best practice. It’s all about enabling the successful delivery of end-to-end improvement projects and processes that are not only fully compliant with all industry standards and regulatory frameworks, but that will also strengthen our commercial edge.
That’s going to involve running workshops to discuss, understand and prioritise requirements then working with our IT teams to translate those requirements before delivering on them. You’ll need to work closely with Field Operations stakeholders at all levels to identify new business opportunities and then provide creative solutions to ensure we optimise them. As well as that, you’ll work with the business to make sure that it’s ready for the change, running pilot schemes and user acceptance testing, and keeping up-to-speed with people’s experiences of the change journey.
On a day-to-day level, you can expect to develop, maintain and monitor continual improvement plans, always logging any risk, issues, dependencies and assumptions. We’ll need you to take responsibility for version control and to oversee and update our document management system to ensure compliance is always maintained.
Across all of this, you’ll be working with project managers. However, if you have your own project management skills, so much the better. You’ll certainly need to be able to deliver business change activities within our time, quality and cost parameters.
This is a highly visible role that will give you exposure to senior stakeholders and the chance to influence people at all levels.
