A relevant engineering qualification and significant project management experience within construction. A formal site manager qualification such as SMSTS, SSSTS or NEBOSH certificate, and a sound knowledge of safety legislation including Electricity at Work Act, HASAAWA and TMA – you’ll also have extensive experience in CDM. A management CSCS card. Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills and a good awareness of the commercial impact of your work. Contract management experience with the ability to build strong working relationships not only with contractors, but also your colleagues, customers and senior managers. A full driving license.
As a Project Delivery Manager you’ll be using the skills and experiences you’ve gained in construction to make a lasting difference to our business, to district heating and to the energy sector itself. We design and install large scale district heating networks into city centres and suburban areas to supplying industrial, commercial and residential properties, as well as designing and building district heating solutions for new housing developments. This is a new and fast growing part of our business, which makes it a fantastic opportunity to take your construction career to the next level.
Your role is about making sure our internal and external service providers deliver our UK-wide construction projects on time, on budget and to the highest safety and quality standards. It’s a role that offers plenty of variety as you’ll be involved in everything from preparing the tender documentation through to managing sub-contractors.
You’ll need to continuously monitor each projects progress, analysing performance against time, cost, quality and safety indicators. Then, if we need to change any aspect of the project in order to meet our business objectives, it will be down to you to discuss and agree the proposed changes alongside the Senior Project Delivery Manager. At the same time, you’ll quickly identify any issues or challenges, and take action to resolve them. That means being based on site and taking control for the full lifecycle of the project. Throughout, you’ll need to take responsibility for our service levels, proactively managing customer expectations, handling any complaints and always looking for new opportunities for us to do things better.
