You will represent Yorkshire Water when dealing with our customers, so it is important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills and that you are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. You will be comfortable in managing a varied workload and be able to use your own initiative and organise your time effectively to complete work tasks. Previous experience of working in a team and in an administrative role is desirable.
You must be confident in using IT systems, eg - Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel and be confident in learning new IT systems as we use a range of systems to hold our customer information and carry out our work scheduling.
An understanding of metering and billing and a basic understanding of the latest retail competition legislation on how this affects the work of the metering team would be advantageous, although full training will be provided in the role.
We have two exciting opportunities for Metering Administrative assistants to join the Metering team. One role will report into the Central Area Metering Team and will provide support to Metered Customer Service Advisors that work operationally in the business reading customer water meters. This will involve raising operational work to resolve customer issues, eg - leaks on meters/customer supply pipes, missing or damaged street furniture. The second role will provide support to the Meter Solutions Team, providing support and guidance to domestic & commercial customers on metering and billing solution queries.
You will play a key role in scheduling work to team members within the metering team using a range of company IT systems, this will involve day to day jeopardy management and the allocation of work to work baskets. You will provide an excellent service to customers both on the telephone and via e-mail and assist with any customer issues/complaints. This will involve dealing with any written customer correspondence within regulated service standards and will also involve contacting customers to make appointments to arrange for work to be carried out.
