You will need to have served a recognised mechanical craft/technician apprenticeship and be experienced in industrial asset maintenance. An ONC/BTEC or equivalent in mechanical engineering would be advantageous, as would experience in the water industry or a similar process critical environment. You will represent the face of Kelda Water Services when meeting our customers so it is important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills. We operate within a sophisticated work and asset management IT system, so you need to be fully IT-literate. A full valid EU driving licence is required. You will also be required to be security cleared by the MoD.
You will be accountable for the completion of planned & reactive mechanical tasks within timescale, quality and cost parameters. Though part of a team, you will often be working alone, so you must be able to manage and prioritise your own workload. You will be required from time to time to supervise the activities of our subcontractors on site, ensuring that the work they deliver is to our very high standards, and carried out safely. You will be encouraged to contribute your views on how our maintenance strategy should evolve to deliver best practice at the most economic cost.
