Degree Level Education. Relevant Professional Qualification. Certified by relevant 3rd party suppliers/vendors. Understandings of the workings of relevant UK General Insurance, Life & Health companies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills. In depth knowledge of one or more sets of applications or key technologies (e.g Networks, desktop and mid-range infrastructure, e-mail and mobile technologies) in use within the Company. Subject matter experts with both broad and in-depth knowledge and acknowledged as such by their peers. Good understanding of Company, UK and Global IT strategy and architectures. Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and their potential to deliver business benefits. Able to translate business strategy into technical solutions and business requirements into technical design. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and team management. Ability to assimilate information quickly , clearly identify key issues and present information concisely. Ability to develop and maintain a wide network of useful contacts, both in IT and within the business, and also with 3rd party suppliers/vendors. Ability to be Self Sufficient. Good Estimating skills (Corporate Level).

Job responsibilities

Manage the IT part of ‘Appropriation Request’ & solution proposals by preparing high level cost estimates and technical evaluations of proposed solutions. Working with the AXA UK CTO Organisation and Solution Delivery Programme Managers, to deliver pragmatic and innovative solutions that meet business requirements and are aligned to AXA UK IT Strategy. Undertake technical end-to-end Solution Design, both conceptual and detailed as necessary. This would cover both functional and non-functional requirements. Work with the business in defining solutions that support the current and future business vision. Undertake product evaluation and selection following an agreed process and selection criteria. Manage technical issues and agree resolution for projects/programmes. Technical Delivery. Ensure the delivered system is correctly aligned to the designed system by undertaking technical end-to-end Solution Delivery. This may involve setting standards & some hands on coding to create templates/outlines for software engineers and requires documented Solution Quality Reviews. Develop and maintain detailed documentation of information relating to the solution. The solution design at both the logical and physical level to include data analysis modelling, dataflow design and process decomposition. Testing to include strategy, test plan, test conditions at user, system & integration levels. Promote solution direction and strategy, provide expert advice to accelerate decisions / resolutions on technical issues.
